As those of you who have explored the website, or are fans of us on Facebook, know, Cheryl Oberle’s trunk show is Feb. 11. A hand-knitting designer and dyer from Denver, Colorado, Cheryl is the author of Folk Shawls, Folk Vests, and Knitted Jackets: 20 Designs from Classic to Contemporary(Interweave Press). Along with her line of self-published designs and hand-dyed yarns and kits, Cheryl also teaches knitting nationally and at her annual Knitaway® retreats.
Kelly and I are eagerly anticipating the event, as we’ve been told the yarns are being dyed exclusively for us! Her squishy organic merino is saturated with color and we’ve been known to carry them around the store, cuddling the yarn. (Not weird, I promise.)
At the beginning of January, we hosted Denver Downtown Stitch ‘n’ Bitch, a local knitting group, for their weekly meet up. Cheryl, knowing that we didn’t have many skeins of her yarn left to show off, brought in a huge bag full! Four walked out in the arms of very happy knitters that night.
So far, the projects we’ve been told the skeins are destined for include hats, shawls, sweaters, and legwarmers. But with such luscious yarn in such rich colors, the limits are only your imagination. What will yours become?
Trunk show is February 11, 10am-5pm. Come early to get the best choice!
